Journal of a voyage across the Atlantic and subsequent tour thro' a part of England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, France, England, Scotland, Ireland & England and return voyage to America: commenced in October 1829 & ended in Dec. 1830, 1830.

This is a journal of unusual quality, kept by a young man who had already spent two years in school in his father's native Switzerland. The entries are very descriptive. The author landed at Liverpool and proceeded to London; his descriptions of Blenheim Palace and Oxford are excellent. These are followed by very detailed accounts of Paris and Versailles. He visited Rouen, Nantes, Toulouse, Montpellier, Nimes, Avigon, Aix-en-Provence, Marseilles, Genoa, Pavia, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Naples, and Pompeii. Volume I ends with Cazenove's arrival at Terni, on his way northward in Italy, on 7 May 1830.
